clutch is sticky... help me out...
aight, i've been searching for the answer all night and this was my last resort, to ask you fellas... here's the story... i was driving down rt.1 last night and was downshifting when the clutch got stuck and wouldnt come back up. i pulled over to a parking lot, ridin on neutral and parked. i checked my fluids and everything was straight and pulled up my clutch pedal... except for now the clutch was sticky, meaning, whenever i pushed down on the clutch to shift, it would lag coming back up. i went to my friends house and watched pride hoping that it was the fluid overheating but it was the same.... i replaced my clutch recently @ 70000miles and now i'm almost @ 72000... what is wrong? help!! is it the throw out bearing? or, god forbid, the clutch?? i appreciate it guys...
Could be throw out bearing, slave cylinder, or brake line is leaking. You might have air in your line (or a leak). bleed it. and make sure there is brake fuild filled. Who put the clutch in for you? You sure they did it right? If then, i'll say it's the slave cylinder. Take it back to the guy that put the clutch in for you and have him check it out. Good luck man

It's the master cylinder.....if your driving around and just driving regular, then it sticks half way....it's the master cylinder. I just had mine replaced AFTER they told me it was my clutch and flywheel.....they replaced the cluthc/flywheel and it still happened, turned out to be the master cylinder.

Oh yes, the old stickey clutch............
I went thru this with my Z........pedal stays on the floor and it never happens
when you expect it to. It's the slave/master cylinder for your clutch. It can
be rebuilt or replaced but that depends if it's still under warranty.

yeah, i asked the guy who replaced my clutch and he said it's probably the master cylinder too. i dont think i can take it in for about a week but would driving the car like this damage the clutch or transmission in any way?
I had the same problem just happened yesterday.
It happened all the sudden when I took off from a stop light.
I brought it into the dealer yesterday afternoon.
I'm curious what they'll say about this problem.
According to them, if it's the throw out bearing, it's covered under warranty.
If it's the clutch or the flywheel, it's not.
But I doubt it's the clutch or the flywheel.
----- The dealer just called me on my cell phone while I was typing the message ----
They said the problem came from the pedals I installed -_-"
They said the clutch was sticky because the pedal I installed was caught by the carpet and floor mat...
I asked them if they check out the release bearing and all other related mechanics and they said they did.
I just feel like this is a joke. Pedal caught by the carpet/floor mat??!!
At least throw me a better excuse which is not that obvious nonsense / ridiculous.
They better hope that the clutch is fine when I go pick up the car this afternoon after work.
