Given my 0 engine mods, I'm going to go with oil cooler and brake cooling as priority #1. Cooling the brakes will also help with pad wear, and at the $$$ of the carbotech combo, I'm happy to save some money if I can.

I would get an oil cooler for track days. Mine worked well at a track that is notorious for running hot- brakes, engine, tires, etc.

You won't put anywhere near the same stress on a car on the street as you will on the track.

Quoted for truth.

And DE/track days won't stress your car as will all-out racing.

Four races, two ventilated blocks.

He's selling it because you passed him on the track! LOL.

For $69,500, This 2008 Audi R8 4.2 Might Just Be Great

Haha, yeah I'm sure that's the reason. Although he did mention in the ad he would trade for a newer Z06 so maybe the Z06 caught him too. Nice find!

Very true. Or your fenders for that matter. "Rubbing's racing!"

True dat. LeMons officials frown heavily on car-to-car contact and will pull you off the track for a time penalty if you do. We were hittee a couple of times and hitter a couple of times. My bump wasn't detected by the officials so my team got lucky. That said, the contact broke a couple of bumper bolts and I was black flagged for the bumper cover flapping in the breeze. Nothing a roll of duct tape couldn't fix.

IMO our cars are slow and heavy. Under steers a lot. Between the G (Volks, KWV3) , S2k ap2(catback), STi(stg2), Evo (stock) I always placed last. All intermediate drivers.

I didn't want to be the first to say anything, but the AWD lap record at the track I was just at is held by an Evo and the RWD is held by and S2k so those cars are by no means slow. It looks like I beat out an M3 (lap record holder) and I believe I now have the RWD sedan track record in my G.

Your alignment, sway bars, and tires will also really help with understeer. Mine is set up very neutrally now.

The only bad thing about this car on the track is the headroom with a helmet. I am about 6'1" and usually sit pretty upright. I had to lean the seat back quite a bit to get clearance for my helmet. I still rubbed, but oddly enough I did not notice it while on track.

I pumped up the side bolsters and the seats seemed to hold me in pretty well even though they are leather. It would have been even better if I had remembered to turn down the lumbar support so I sat further back in the seat. Whoops!

That's true, not much headroom at all! Strange actually that a sports coupe has seats that sit so high. The sunroof is thick, but the seats do not go low enough. I'm 6' on the dot and even without a helmet I would like more headroomfor piece of mind.

It's amazing what adrenaline will do for you tho, I noticed the same thing once I get going
