Autocross - What class?
Hey all,
I picked up my car in November, and have been sitting on it all winter. In an effort to get to know the car's handling dynamics better, I'm thinking of running a couple autocrosses this year. So my question is, what class do these cars get lumped into? I do have Swift/Koni suspension, and a catback and an intake. Does that put me in BSP?
Thanks for any input!

As rsattler mentioned, all stock G37s are FS, but since you have swifts, you'll be in STU- a nearly impossible class to be very competitive in since it includes modified STIs and Evos; they're lighter and most have more HP. New nonadjustable shocks/struts alone are okay for FS class though, just not colovers or even simply new springs. Also, upgraded sway bars are a must. Everyone on here says they're the best bang for buck upgrade and I agree. Consider some summer tires- Michelin pilot super sports seem the be the highest rated daily use tire, or go for Hankook RS3s if you're looking for a dedicated track tire. Lastly, if you have an auto, I recommend just putting it into 2nd unless you're on a higher speed course as DS doesn't always shift to the right gear when you want it to.

Thanks for the tips guys. Yes, I have a track-prepped WRX already, so I know I won't be competitive. And I'm actually trying not to be competitive, to be considerate of the people running for points. I'm just looking to get to know my G better. I haven't been to an autocross in a long time, but I thought the ST classes were limited in displacement, no? Only cars under 3.0L or something like that? I thought the adjustable shocks and intake automatically puts me into SP with a 3.7L motor. But again, I haven't been sharp on the rule book in like, 10 years, so I'm probably way off. That's why I'm asking here! Thanks again guys!
