Traction Control in Manual mode (DS)

Own 2013 G37xS coupe (AWD auto with sport PKG).
Most of us get annoyed by the traction control, especially during sproty driving/track day.

I think I noticed that the traction control is not as rigid while using the paddle shifters/manual (DS) mode.
Am I imagining or this is a loophole to have the traction control more flexible?

Thanks

DS and manual mode are two different things. When you move the shifter to the left and LEAVE IT THERE (no shifting) you are in DRIVE SPORT mode. This setting holds lower gears a little longer, sharpens shifts and typically keeps it out of 7th gear.

If you do the above an THEN SHIFT ONCE, you are now in Manual mode. You can't get back in to DS mode from there until you put it back in D first.

I've had new Infintit's over the past seven years and do not think traction control is any less intrusive in DS or M than in D. I have heard that if you hold down the traction control button for 10 seconds, it completely shuts it off until you turn the car off and then on again.

Thanks for the clarifications. I've meant Manual mode (M1-7).
The traction control is just driving me nuts on a track day, but the instructors are discouraging from turning it off. I was hoping to find a "semi traction mode"

ToeKnee Sea where did you hear about holding the traction control button for 10 seconds to completely disable it? I would love to be able to really do that when I track the car.

Mbar, most track schools play it on the safe side when it comes to traction control especially for newer students. Once you get a little more track time you will always turn off traction control for greater control of your car. On the G37 I have found that the traction control very crude in comparison to other cars I've driven. It seems to mainly turn off the engine power whenever it sees tire slippage for any reason especially if there is any wheel angle other than straight at the same time. Leave it off and learn to drive without it. You'll be much happier and a better driver because of it.
