Wow - I.... just can't get over what you did to your car. An '09? Did you keep the stuff you pulled out? Do you ever want to take someone somewhere with you? How is that gonna work out? Don't get me wrong, I admire the desire for speed, but surely you have another car you haven't torn apart.

You guys think what he did is crazy, you should see this guy I went to the track with over the summer. He bought a brand new 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo and the day he drove it off the lot he gutted almost the entire thing, put in some racing seats with harnesses, and threw on some different wheels with Hoosier racing slicks. One of my friend's rode in it for a few laps and said it was the craziest thing he's ever been it.

So how much do the factory seats weigh? 75lb's from replacing seats is quite a big chunk of dead weight. When I redo my interior I'm definitely going with lightweight seats.

sorry im late. funny how much negativity is in this thread, especially from people that dont track their cars.

glad to see theres someone out there trying this. the day i have another car and can afford to track more, i plan on doing something similar. ill probably leave most of the interior as the weight becomes a little more trivial but the back seat will get pulled, front seats will be replaced, trunk stripped and a 4 point cage will go in.

i saw someone mentioned his 5at went out? i really dont spend much time on here anymore but i recently replaced my 7at. i cant really say ive heard about anyone breaking theirs but my torque converter seems to have come apart. you'd never guess how much a new 1 cost...

Have you thought of titanium exhaust for weigh savings?
Do the G's have fuel starvation problems in tight turns like the Z?

yes, but not as bad as the Z. probably due in part to not being able to hit the kind of g's the Z can, but hard right turns will cause my fuel gauge to plummet to empty and then slowly recover after the turn. happens at 1/4 tank for me.
