I made my car faster....

So I finally decided to make some changes to my car. This is mainly for the track peeps because this is not a very pretty thing to do to your car.

I got 18" Volk G2's 9.5 in rear 9.0 in front. Im running 275's on all fours. (Got a great price at Amplified)
I added the Racing Brakes two piece front rotors.
I replaced the stock sport seats with Recaros.

I stripped everything behind my driver's seat to the metal. (I left the roof alone for now).
From my estimate, the Recaro seats shaved off approximately 75 total pounds. The back seat weighed approximately 58 pounds. The two panels in the back seat area with the speakers weighed 5 pounds each. The spare tire and jack weighed about 35. The rear seat belts and braces weighed approximately ten pounds. This is a weight savings of approximately 188 pounds. This weight is the weight savings not counting wheels and rotors.

The G2's are great..from stock I'm saving approximately five pounds per wheel. (Going to 18's felt faster before I even started stripping the car). The Racing Brakes rotors shaved off about 9 pounds to each of the fronts. So thats an unsprung weight savings of apprx. 38 pounds.

The car feels amazing.....Its got a totally different personality and I can finally feel the torque the engine has been hiding. The driving experience is a bit louder and feels a more... "pure".

Stickers help too. 10 whp each and the weight increase is negligible.

(Going to 18's felt faster before I even started stripping the car).
Of course going down from 19s to 18' is like using lower gears, it will feel faster at lower speeds, but you lost TOP END SPEED.

A stripped out G37 = a 370Z

Sounds like fun, those mods would definitely improve the performance.
The only thing to consider is that most of that weight seems to be coming off the rear of the car that's already nose heavy. You should probably corner balance the car once you are done stripping it.

^ LOL pretty much hit it on the head. Please post pictures. BTW about how much $ do you think it cost you so far for the strip? Including wheels and all?

Anyone who doesn't track/drag their car has no place posting here.

Why did he choose a G37 over a 370?

Looks.
Wheelbase.
G37 was out first.

Don't like it? Who cares? Lastchance likes what he did, and it suits HIS needs. He's also literally the first person to do this.

^NO he's not exactly the first to remove the rear seat and some rear pannels ... Sep, G37Mobber took his stuff out a long time ago to save weight..

Although I give LastChance some props on adding racing seats, shedding weight, and using the car for performance...

If he likes it thats all that matters... He makes the payment on the car so he can do what he wants with it, and I think I saw his car when we went through Malibu Canyon last March and it looked nice from the outside, kinda like a road racing sleeper car.
