ButtonWillow Raceway OPEN TEST March 12, 2010

On march 12, 2010 Buttonwillow raceway will open their racing track. Not affiliated with any private organizations. The whole day is organized and run by Buttonwillow Raceway.

You may spent as much as $200 for full day. Or $110 half day. Full day is from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (driver meeting at 7:00 am). For half day driver meeting is held at 12:00 and the track is open from 1:30 to 5:00 PM.

As I have mentioned the OPEN TEST is hosted by Buttonwillow Raceway. For the Weekend they are not able to rent the track to organizations like SpeedVentures, The Track Club, Keigwins, California Sports Car Club, or Redline Time Attack. Buttonwillow raceway will have the day entirely open to all or us who enjoys Tracking.

There are some major advantages and things I like about OPEN TEST Day.
1. the track is not divided into run groups. A lousy 10 minute session and wait 1 -2 hours for your next. The OPEN TEST, you enter and exit the track when you feel like. Or if you run out of Gas.
2. the price is a lot cheaper than events hosted by private organizations.
3. if you want to drive hang out with friends or even do a little barbecue. The OPEN TEST track day is the best for your money.

To be honest I myself have never been to the OPEN TEST, above information was obtained through friends who have been to OPEN TEST. Or from Buttonwillow Raceway website at, Buttonwillow Raceway Park. I intend to go March 12, 2010. I will tell my wife I am going to play golf, but go to OPEN TEST. Spend 1/2 day as if I am playing golf. And return home to my family.

So if you want to know more please visit buttonwillow Raceway Official Website. They have their event calendar posted on their website. And also detailed Rental Price. Or if you really want to learn more about Buttonwillow Raceway OPEN TEST, give them a call their phone number is 661-764-5333.

I found a video on YouTube racing OPEN TEST on 7/11/2009. Running the entire track by himself. I times his run 2 minute 8 seconds. Pretty Fast.

Yes helmet and tech inspection is required. But since the OPEN TEST is meant to test your modified or race cars. There is no restriction on the type of car. Nor what you have done to your vehicle.

Some open test days are wide open, others are packed.

If you're lucky, you can get a TON of track time. More than likely, you'll get more track time than with an organization anyways, but you have to supply your own timing
