i have a non s g37 and for some reason i take the g37s in straight line drag races. is it cause with the bigger breaks rims and all the other accessories in the g37s makes it slower? I also went to a private track with my friend and he has the type s and i also performed better then him on the track i was thinkin maybe because i am a better driver but i used his car for a few laps and still my times were faster whats up?

 

Weight is something is consider, but also type of gas, how MUCH gas, tread life and tire brand makes a difference.

 

we both got are cars around the same time , and non of us are into the burning the tires also we both filled up full tank 91 right when we got there

both 5at , and the other guys driving the S's in a straightline most 6mt others 5at or 7at out of 15 of em i won all of em atleast once but lost to one S by like half a car his was 6mt

 

its probably the brakes, if not it has to be that S badge in the back.. its probably adding like 100lbs.

homelessdrunk ran good times b/c he has a G37 non sport base model... not even the journey model ... 13.7 on a slippery track for a stock automatic.

 

S has more unsprung weight in the form of larger rims and heavier disks.

 

the difference between non S and S are sport seats, 19s rims, bbk, sports suspension.. none of these are performance mods, more of handling.. and both trims have same engine.. so it's nothing extraordinary that a non S is faster than the S..

the S is just sportier and gives 100hp to the butt dyno thats all

 

Better handling is better performace, lol. I agree that's it's mostly likely due to weight differences.

 

well i have the S and i have beaten every Base 37. from drags to highway races... mine is a 5AT as well. i read a while back that every engine is hand built and some may be a lil different. maybe i just got lucky. but i havent lost to another g37 or g37s...
