I still maintain that 99.9% of BMW owners only own them so they can tell all their friends they own a "BMW XXX".

Thats funny because this guy that parks in the same garage at my work drives a BMW 335ix and i ran into him one day and asked if he had any mods. He said he no and explained that the only reason he bought it because of the BMW name/always wanted a BMW. I showed him my car and he was like wow you take car of yours. NO SHIET!

well......if you are a dumb kid....maybe.....most of my friends make over 100k a year and many over 150k......so 335i is not that impressive to begin with.

but this type of thinking leads me to believe that you are much younger then i am.

everything you talk about makes me thing you live in New Canaan, CT or somewhere close to it...

All I can say about that is if you have to talk about how much money your "friends" make then I feel sorry for you, regardless of how old/young you are

Most wealthy people don't drive expensive cars.

Most people who drive a 3 series are stretching themselves to drive it. (then again, that applies to any entry level lux car)

I just got a 2008 CPO 328 for a friend of mine for 20,400 OTD. Only 11k miles on the car.... talk about depreciation.
if you compare Market valve of 2008 fully loaded G37S to market valve of fully loaded 2008 335i, 335i obviously will be more.

i paid about 1k over trade-in valve for a certified car.

I see where that comment came from though. Many people DO buy a BMW just to be able to say that they own one, even if its the lowest base model. On the other hand fellow enthusiasts like us pay more attention to detail like the model numbers and engine displacement. I would love to own an e92 M3 though il tell you that!

1. making 100k-150k a year is not wealthy...and no, they dont drive expensive car......they invest in real estate. the ones that make over 200k do drive expensive cars (RS4, SL55, E92 M3)
2. i dont think i am stretching myself....i paid cash for mine

hahaha how does investing in real estate correlate to driving an expensive car?

no one cares how you paid for your car. I paid cash for mine and I don't make close to 100K on USAF pay. What's your point?

so are you saying you bought a BMW to fit in with your wealthy real-estate dealing friends?

listen Kolyan.. I AM young. I got my G when i was 16 and now I am 18. i paid for a good chunk of my car. My father makes 5 times what your friends make and he drives a Nissan Armada and a ****ty Toyota Sequoia. Im from Fairfax/Loudon county, the MOST prosperous area in the entire country. The show "The OC" was based off of MY town (Great Falls VA) so i dont want to hear about you or your "friends" and their real estate and incomes and BMWs...
congrats on your BMW i hope you enjoy it, but if you dont have a G37 or other Nissan/Infiniti or atleast a JDM vehicle you have no business here... the site is called MYG37. if you wanna talk about BMW go in bimmerpost.com. thank you and have a nice day

^ thats probably a good idea. but if you noticed, i am just responding to posts. and yes, i guess i am that person who like to argue a bit......

The thing is that first of all i never said how much i make and i will not. Second, i dont care what other people driver.....lots of people and friends of mine have much better things to do then get into cars.....

I like cars and thats why i bought it.....and i already posted a article on why i like it better.

And my personal opinion.....spending 30- 40k on a car when u make less then 90-100k is plain stupid. And if on top of that u spend 10-20k on mods.....thats just beoynd stupidity.

i actually dont know who this comment is for

but anyway, just wanted to add which i almost forgot myself......

the biggest reason behind my decision to buy G or 335 was simply the fact that I was going to loose about 5-6k if not more on my Audi A4 if i didn't sell it due to the warranty expiration. I was very happy with A4......it gave me zero problems in a year of ownership.
