Help stillen oil cooler
so, to anyone who may read this in the future:
I called Stillen and sent them the above pictures, they could not explain the difference between the smaller filter in the instructions and the larger filter sent with the kit. I ended up just putting a 2" extension on the existing coolant line. pictures below. its 1/2" line.

the other thing that I changed with the install was the location of the actual cooler in the front. the directions relocate the power steering cooler so that you can use the mount for the oil cooler but then it blocks the air going to the power steering cooler, sandwiching it between the radiator and oil cooler so I moved it over a bit, still had long enough oil cooler lines and just drilled one hole in the bracket.

I moved it over , like this:

You dont have a factory oil cooler, the OP does, hence the extra plate.

the lines that came with the oil cooler are steel. the binding hose was rubber, the factory hose. it has coolant in it, not oil.

I have a 2008 G37S with a MT, and that same plate is pictured in the stillen directions I posted above, so, maybe? also possibly because it is a Sport?
similar to the 370Z post above the Stillen said you can just by pass the stock cooler by routing the coolant lines as described in the 370 post, it just seemed like less work to lengthen that stock rubber line. took 5 mins.
maybe they were only on the older models? (08-11)?

You just need to remove the OEM cooler. It serves no purpose once an oil cooler is installed. You're just heating up the coolant more than it needs to be and hotter coolant will generate hotter oil temps. Its a vicious cycle. An aftermarket radiator does wonders for oil temps.
