Shaved Door Handles... Yes or No?

Ok so I was looking at my car today and want a new project and I think this car would look really good without the door handles. I have been calling some body shops but its hard for me to get away from work right now for them to see it. I just wanted to see if anyone else has looked into this for their G coupes. What do you guys think of the idea?

I haven't seen it before on the G's. Would be curious to see it before I make any assumptions.

I had to look up what this is, and it seems like a really, really good way to get locked out of your car. What would you do with the current "push to open" button?

Outer door handles removed and handle cup body filled and painted. Solenoids installed to activate electronically to "pop" your door open when the remote unlock on the fob is activated. And yes, it is an awesomely effective way to get locked out of your vehicle if you let the fob battery die completely.

You are better off picking up the GTR door handle and fitting it to your car. its a better solution in my opinion.

I've had a few vehicles with shaved handles, you better have a backup way to pop your door manually. If fob/car battery dies you are screwed. Same thing if door solenoid dies. Good luck

I wasn't considering doing the shaved door handle, but do like the shape and subtle chrome accent of the Q50 handles...anyone know if they can be swapped? Ive seen the full chrome covers, but they look plastic-y and a little too much chrome.

Also take into consideration that some tracks will NOT permit vehicles with shaved handles due to the fact that if you get into a crash on their track, they are unable to open your door to get you out.

I love the shaved look, always have. It makes me a little nervous that I could be f'd if the battery dies.

The GTR door handles sound like a great alternative...can it be done? Would you loose the intelligent key capabilities?

After reading this, thats all I would need to hear to not want to do this mod. Crazy look though.
