G37 tune?

Ok i am looking to get a tune to get max hp and performance from my car and my minor mods. As of right now i have the ark grip cat back, and injen dual cold air intake. Within the next few weeks i am getting headers and morotdyne m370 intake manifold.
Also what is the difference in hfc and test pipes? Will test pipes throw a code? Or fail me for inspection?

Also what tune would you recomend? My friend has a 370znismo and has uprev/orsis tune but i dont really know too much about tunes or what to get. I just want max hp and performance and i believe the uprev has 5 maps. The first being the performance map.

Please help me understand a bit more before making the wrong choice. Im a newb lol. I really appreciate it guys

I think a tune would be in your best interest especially after doing all that work. You would be better off doing the headers, adding a highflow cat, and eliminating that stupid Y-pipe, you should get a true dual exhaust, that will help in the power department.

Test pipes will throw a code, better off with hfc.

From the 50 threads I have read through on this Forum I come to the conclusion a Tune is practically a necessity to do after the mods you are doing and have already done. It will get everything to work as it should with the Tuned ECU. I have my appointment set for early next month to get my Tune done since you and I have about the same types of breather mods. Personally I can tell a pretty big difference in my car as its not as peppy due to the influx of air going through the car. The tune should, again this is just from reading and researching, get everything to work together and run way smoother. I cannot wait to see the difference.

If you read though the threads and posts you should find a TON of invaluable information.

I can't find the link, but the Uprev tune is said to give you 20-30 BWHP on an OEM G. I couldn't vouch for this, but if your planning on a tune make sure it's AFTER you do any mods to the vehicle. To do it before is pointless.

Uprev is whats most recommended. It's what I'm going to have done in the not so distant future. Just need to find a reputable tuner to do it really. I believe the Uprev tune has two variations. One has 5 modes to choose from and the upgraded one has 7 modes. I could be wrong on that, but I think thats what it says on the UPREV site. 5 modes are plenty for a Daily Driver IMO.

I asked my dealer the same question about two weeks ago and was told that it wouldn't void the warranty. They will not fix damaged or mis-installed aftermarket parts though. So, I think there could be a "grey area" lurking in there.

The price varies, the license plus tune is probably between 5 and 600 bucks. Retune cost me 100 bucks each time

I only have 3 modes, power map, valet mode, and anti theft mode. My tune was professionally done on a dyno. There is the option to get a cable and do an etune, so you can retune/return to stock as necessary. I can switch modes by flipping a few of the switches on the steering wheel in a particular order.
