I've been told from a close friend of mine that has quite a bit of modding experience that lowering springs can cause serious alignment issues. There is also the issue of diminished ride comfort. What type of spring would you guys recommend to counter these issues? I am thinking about lowering my car, but I'm still on the fence about it. Thanks in advance.

 

Eibach is a popular choice... not as drastic of a drop as H&R's (that's what I'm running), There are camber kits available now front and rear to solve any alignment issues created by a drop.

 

i would just say search..i kinda of did in a way..lol

anyways, lowering springs don't mess anything up, its how you adjust your car after you lower it. anytime you mess with suspension its a good idea to get your alignment adjusted. if i hit a big pothole it can knock my alignment up. get what i mean?..now as far as ride comfort, thats subjective..i hate when people say it messes up ride comfort, for who?.....you aren't me so don't speak for me..again get what im saying..

if its any constellation, im lowered on h&r probably the lowest you can go with springs, and im on 20s..and it rides fine..holla...

 

If u ve never driven a lowered car then I d recommend a mildest drop u can get and that would be with Tanabe Nf210. The ride is the same as stock sport and u will not need to mess with getting an alignment.

 

Don't be a ***** and slam it! I'm riding on s-techs and it's not uncomfortable, it's just hard to get into driveways sometimes and speed bumps at the mall, I had a slammed f150, now that **** drove like crap!!!

 

I think I'm either going with Tanabe or Eibach. Thank you so much for your input, guys. That helps a lot!

 

The Tanabe has a bigger drop in the back which will make the car look weird. The Eibach has a bigger drop in the front which is much better, it evens out the gap. Anybody with Tanabes cares to post pictures of the drop?

 

Swift is working on G37 springs. They are, IMO, the best available. The 370z guys are loving theirs. Mild drop, great performance.

If you go springs, wait a week or two until you get an alignment. The springs need time to settle to their "permanent" height. If you get springs with a mild drop (less than 1.5" all around), chances are you may not need any camber/toe kits. But every car/alignment shop is different.

 

In that case, I will definitely wait on the Swifts so that I can check those out. This may be a repeated question, but does the G35/37S share the same chassis as the 350z? I did a google search on it but it came back nil.
Also, is there a time frame for when we can expect the Swift springs?

ANY car you drop, you can reallign the car, and "ride comfort" depends on the car. Our cars are AMAZING and MADE for sport tuned suspensions.

SLAM your car on a set of coilovers and take him for a spin. He'll not only eat his words, but you'll have to clean up his mess all over the passanger side dash/seat.....

 

Lmao he drove a 93 GMC Sonoma for years until the engine finally blew.
I live in Myrtle Beach and the roads are terrible. I want to slam the hell out of it but if I do, she'll have a recked under carriage in no time. I definitely want to replace the roll bars and, ideally, I would like to drop her about 1.5". Maybe the Swift springs will allow that lol.

 

The roads are terrible in Myrtle Beach? Really? Compared to? Visit New England for a minute... I bet we have nicer golf courses, too.

 

Lol they're just really uneven and it throws the car around mercilessly.

 

If you're looking for a 1.5" drop then you need something other than Swift. I have also been keeping an eye on Swift springs for the G37/G25x, I called last week and they told me to call back in 2-3 months to check, still in development.

The Swift springs for other cars in general on their website is only about a 0.6-1.0" drop, so if you want something more than that you probably need to look into Eibach.
