also, how often are we to change the gear box oil? it seems like you didn't have to Janik since you're car is fairly new!
I think mine was done when the transmission was replaced but they probably put in some OEM Nissan fluid. Im just wondering if maybe changing the fluid over to something else would help it out in the sketchy noise department... And it does it when I push the clutch in and start to move in reverse (out of the garage in this case) and if I don't let it warm up, it will do it any time I put the clutch in.

Rudy is good ****. Occasionally I deal with Jim, but my go to person is Rudy. If hes gone, I head over to Lupient and talk to Connie and Peter. They both love me for some reason.

How easy was it to get a new transmission from the dealer? Ive done my research about the 5th gear grinding and some people instantly got a new transmission without any questions.

Since I have a third party warranty do you think they would ask questions? Maybe even just deny the claim and blame it on user error (which most likely is). I brought my car to a transmission repair shop and I had the mechanic drive my car for a few miles and he said that the syncros are starting to wear out because its a little stiffer to downshift. He also shifted it to 5th and had the grind happen to him. I told him it happens occasionally, he said that I should bring it to the dealership and have them just diagnose the problem.

I am guessing you guys are pretty close to the mechanics at the Bloomington dealership. Maybe one of you guys should come with me when I come in for that 5th gear grind.

They heard the grind and replaced it no questions asked. I had that done at Lupient though.

I'm actually surprised too? Would thought you workday upgraded the clutch and flywheel when you boosted?

no. the power i'm making, you can get by for a while, but it's recommended that you upgrade. I wanted to upgrade when necessary, and right now it's not, cept sometimes into 5th. if i was making around 400whp, wthen i would have def done it right there and then.

makes sense but wouldn't having the issue with 5th mess up that syncros?

and you're welcome Lance... when i was watching, closed the window right after the second part cuz i didn't think it was funny but then realized that i missed something and watched it again.
