I just have the stock y pipe.
My exhaust goes from the headers, to I'm pretty sure the 3" cats ( although I didn't measure to be sure ), to the stock y pipe (which is 2.25 or 2.5") then to the 3" Megan.
I am pretty sure that the change in the size of the piping is causing the "interesting" noise that the exhaust produces. At least I am hoping.

Hmm well idk why it sounds the way it does then. I thought the cat outlets were bigger than what the y was but I didn't look all that hard. But the Megan is definitely 3" pipe. I figured the change in pipe diameter would cause some sort of echo or turbulence somewhere?
Any other ideas?

The restrictions of an exhaust are limited by the smallest pipe in your exhaust. If you have a 2.5 section, and then a 3 inch section of actual PIPING, all it does is hang it up for condensation. The piping in the Cats gets larger to "3 inch", but that's only for the "junk" inside the cats. Berks are 200 cell cats, so not as much as some other competitors and very free flowing, but also are about as free flowing as an actual piping. Your stock Y pipe is 2.5 and the rest as is the rest of your piping of the exhaust....so the size of the actual piping of your cats has nothing to do with all of this.....just an FYI

^^^True...and while you're "drifting in snow", you have no load on your car so its almost the exact same thing as you just revving up your car...
We'll do some pulls when we all get together and vid everyone's exhaust pulling away, mid throttle, and then WOT.
