I'm gonna pick up my buddy from Minneapolis Saturday morning to cruise with us but I might just meet you guys either at Ikea on the way to Target or just at Target. I'll probably come out to Lance's Friday night though and give the car a a good clean and wax if I haven't done so by then.

Oh boy! I better make sure my camera is charged and ready to go. I'm getting so excited for this... I keep thinking that today is Wednesday for some reason, although I wish it was Friday.....

Wondering if ppl have any preference on the wax they prefer, I'm up in the air between the tech wax 2.0 n the gold class. I've always done the gold but am interested to try the tech wax since it lasts a bit longer. I might bring em both lol

I've used Griot's Best of Show Wax from The Complete Garage in town here. Its water based so doesn't damage the clear coat but since its water based, doesn't last as long!

I would Janik about Waxes and detailing products. He's done quite a bit of research on it...

I already have two and I want to burn through those before I dump more money into supplies lol. Plus I wax mine once a month or once every month n a half, vs the stuff that people apply every 3 to 5 months. Btw.....theres an 07ish CLS55 AMG in the back shop right now....black/black

nawwwwwwwwwce!

As for wax...i figure the less you actually "touch" the paint/clear, the better. Less chances for surfaces scratches.

That's speaking for a car that sits inside all day though so hopefully rarely have to wash it, avoiding taking off coats of wax.

Yea, with the higher gas prices my M is taking a back seat to the Accord more often than I'd prefer lately lol. I still drive it now and then, but more so just to the store or out for dinner now and then. I feel really guilty with all the crap this year and wanting to get outta work at a decent time, I havent really had a ton of time to devote to getting it cleaned up and TLC like it deserves I will prolly detail the interior tomorrow or Thursday so its all cleaned up and ready for Friday/Sat.

Lance did you ever end up ordering those LEDs for your interior btw?

Mike, i'd HIGHLY HIGHLY reccommend buying a quality wax off of detailedimage.com or autogeek.

They cost about twice as much as the NXT or the Gold Class, but good lord they do a MUCH better job. Like, for real, you will see your paint like you've never seen it before. There is THAT big of a difference.

I like P21S carnuba wax. It is about $32, but it last a damn long time (thinner coats) and it makes your paint look like sweet melted butter.
P21S Concours Carnauba Wax - 6.2 oz | Detailed Image

This is the stuff that will be applied to Lance's car on friday.Little more expensive, but I bought it on sale
Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax will give you a deep, wet finish will exceed your expectations. car wax, carnauba paste wax, pinnacle

On detailedimage, use the coupon code 10offG35 for a 10% off discount.

If your adamant about buying at the store, Gold class is a little higher quality than the NXT.

Janik, do you use an orbital or hands when you're doing this?
