Peaked at Ecutek logs: Short ram intakes and heat soak... not a big deal?

I dont know if Ive heard the theory here specifically, but I know I have heard it throughout my years modding cars. Over the past week or so Ive thought about swapping my cheapo ebay shortrams for Injen CAIs or possibly higher quality SRIs with heat shields. Fast forward to today and I was emailing Sebastian a new set of logs and I decided to take a look at a couple of them to see what my intake temps are.

On the way to work it was 77F and the intake temp was 86F. On the way home in 101F weather, the car was sitting at the light sucking in 132F air and a minute later cruising on the freeway it went down to 107. Obviously, while sitting at a light, SRIs will definitely suck in hotter air, but while moving, theyre not so bad. And in TX its only hot 352 days of the year, so its not so bad

Anyone happen to have any saved CSV files from Ecutek runs and running some coldairs?

Ape Factory did some intake air temp logging. He lives west of San Antone so he sees essentially the same weather as you.

I've got gigabytes of logs from NA, FI, and geographically distributed vehicles. PM me and I can send you whatever you like.
