I pulled this fromThe370z.com thread by jucinjake;

”id also like to make it clear that EPS has a pending DESIGN AND UTILITY patent filed for these plates. Nisformance has a pending patent on their adapter harness. we teamed up to provide this kit to the community and intend to jointly defend it. anyone who is thinking about making/selling plates that bolt 70 or 75mm throttle bodies to these engines, or an adapter harness for this purpose, will in fact, be in violation of either one, or both, patents when they are finally approved. do this, and i guarantee that you will be seeing at least one of us, and our lawyers, in court.”

I’m not sure how extensive the patent is and what it applies to, but just wanted to put this out there in case it gets legally bad.

I’m all for a cheaper option for sure. And would be down to buy a set locally.

Interesting. Thanks for that. That is a good find. Hopefully there’s a way around it. But it’s possible there isn’t like stated. Today was the first day of getting ball rolling to look at options.

So I am going to throw in here. It looks like EPS uses the Hitachi ETB0021 TBs. The Hitachi ETB0020 are the same size TBs minus the cooling/heating lines. The harness is appears to just swap the position of the wires for easy plug and play. Anyone familiar with wiring can just re-pin their harness if they want I imagine.

Here is the wire layout of the throttle bodies, FYI (Terminal; Color; Signal):

Maxima ETB0021:
1 G Input
2 W Output 1
3 R Output 2
4 B Ground
5 P Motor 1
6 L Motor 2

G37 Bank 1:
1 G Motor 1
2 BR Motor 2
3 R Ground
4 Y Output 1
5 B Output 2
6 L Input

G37 Bank 2:
1 G Input
2 R Output 1
3 W Output 2
4 B Ground
5 GR Motor 2
6 V Motor 1

OK thanks!

I already have ecutek and wanted to hold off on retune. but $500 sounds tempting. I'm going to talk to my local mechanic about this too.

Let me know if you get those adapters sourced.

I ordered a Hitachi ETB0020 (found a used one for $40) just to check and I wanted to point out I was incorrect with the EBT0020 being the same as the EBT0021 Maxima TBs minus the cooling/heating lines. The EBT0020 is a 76mm TB, however still minus the cooling/heating lines.

That said I am unsure if the EBT0021 Maxima TB is indeed 70mm or if it is a 76mm TB.
