Look at the gains beyond 6.5K! I was trying to decide what intake to buy... they are all so expensive. Looks like all I will need are the K&N drop ins + resonator delete + hood insulation delete. I was just hoping for more sound with the same power; this is even better....

Yep. Who would have thought a team of engineers with a multi-million dollar R&D budget could design an efficient intake.

Man it's amazing how the car's hp fall off a cliff at 7K rpm. Even with really poor a/f ratios, my car kept pulling to redline. The Stillen exhaust should help in that department.

Are you monitoring a/f ratios?

One problem with the K&N's is MAF contamination and the fact they don't filter as well as stock. Not sure if anyone makes one but I'd try a high performance dry panel filter.

R2C makes a dry panel filter. I have them in my sedan. About $100 for the set. Way easier to clean than oiled gauze too.

Thinking about it after changing my filter, it's possible the gains could have just come from the old filter being dirty.

How many miles on the filters? I had an R2C intake kit, their filters are very good. Maybe grab a pair of their panel filters and test those back to back with the K&N.

With the factory tune on the sport sedan the throttle bodies start to close to about 60% after 7100 - 7300 RPM. This is the "soft rev limiter" Fuel cut off is 7600 RPM.

I suspect the coupe or IPL may be different.

Would there be a difference between coupe and sedan?

I have an IPL. Red is my dyno run with stock tune and K&N typhoon.

I noticed my rev limited cut in more like 7400. In real world practice though, I need to shift right after passing 7300 or else I won't shift in time and will hit the soft wall.

Blue curve. not sure, but i think it's 7700 with soft limit.

Green has rev limit set to 7700 with no gradual soft rev limit.
