Mine with the stock boxes vented and K&N drop ins runs roughly 145-160 at stop lights in 100 degree weather here and about 115 to 120 up to 45 mph havent done much logging on interstate lately so if you getting way below that, that is pretty damn good haha keep up the good work ape!

Yep, I'm cerifiable. Got up early installed the Nismo intakes (only). First impression, they feel GOOD. Car definitely is pulling harder. I'll do a seperate thread for the Nismos but I'll say this...these are not bolt in. Mods to the kit and custom brackets will be necessary. More to come.

Edit: Took some data this evening with the Nismo's. In stop and go traffic, they never got above 110. At cruise, they were generally around 100 and would drop into the 90's with throttle. Ambient temps registered 93 most of the way home but dropped to 91. The IAT's didn't change however. More consistent than the R2C's but didn't get quite as cold. Going to have to fab up a duct too, LOL.

Hey! Got the R2c also...couple questions:

Interested in the tape you applied...have you tested it in any way with and then without to confirm it is actually creating a beneficial effect?

Allot of people swear by the takeda CAI what was the reason for your decision to get the R2C?

Thanks for your time!

Ok so when I installed my R2C's I noticed the bottom of the "airbox" was above the bottom of the cold air inlet for the stock airboxes. So...I lowered them as much as I could which meant they didn't seal on top. That's what the extra "foam" strips are for. To seal it against the top of the hood and around some of the various openings.

I found the cold air inlets work quite well.

I didn't do any of the behind the front grille intakes as I didn't want to cut anything and I didn't want to have to take the entire bumper off every time I wanted to clean the air filter. And they'll get dirty quite quickly in that location.

So, after all that, would you recommend the R2Cs long term (ish)? I know you've done the Nismos but I don't think I want to go quite that far haha.

I should really dyno back to back to make an educated decision but they're fairly easy to install, sound great and look good. I did feel a difference but a change in power curve can deceive you. The filters seem to be really good which is one big concern of mine. So yeah I'd recommend them. If you're looking for absolute power, I can tell the Nismos make more power and have a flatter curve by the way the car pulls (and the tires spin).

Good to know. As awesome as they seem on yours, I don't know I'd go as far as the nismos due to cost/install process, I think I'd maybe go Takeda CAI but that's it. And I have an X sedan, so no wheelspin for me. So if you're sticking with the Nismos and dumping the R2Cs let me know, I'm in Austin

My take on this is drop throttle reduces the air flow over the MAF sensor where the IAT sensor is located. The reduced air flow reduces the amount of heat being removed from the IAT and so its temperature goes up.

Whoops! I didnt read the whole thread befor I posted. Sorry for the duplication of thought.

At this point I can only say that the throttle-temp change is consistent on both the OEM and R2C intakes. somewhat different behavior but essentially the same.

It's the same with the Nismo's too.
