Nice! How long did it take to install without removing the bumper?

Pretty sure he means he can access the filters from the top, not that he installed the intake from the top.

AFAIK, you can't install the Gen3 without dropping the bumper, one so that you can enlarge the inlets, and two so that you can mount the clamps in front. That's what I always thought every time I looked at the Stillen.

Rochester-I installed mine with out removing the bumper. I enlarged the holes as much as I could with the amount of space I had so the pipes are a bit tight it is possible.

That's what I thought too, but he posted this on the 1st page:

Impressive.

I didn't think there was enough leverage to get a good cut on those inlets. You must have strong, little-girly hands.

And are you saying the front brackets can get mounted properly, too?

Total install time was probably close to 3 hours

Actually rather large hands but I have skinny fingers.

I just installed the Gen 3 on my wife's G37 sedan. There is a noticeable horsepower difference. First time she punched it from a stop after the install, it burned rubber. When I get into it, I feel the difference. There is a sound difference for sure. To me, it was worth it.

I've tried both Stillen Gen 3's and K&N short Rams, you definitely get much better gains with the Gen 3's. Not only do they sound better but the engine bling pops out that much more.

My previous G was totaled and I couldn't salvage them but I picked up a new pair during Black Friday sale and will be PC the piping prior to install. I'm currently running the K&N's now and mehh to me they a too close to stock for my comfort.
