Cleaning SS mufflers..

I have a set of stainless steel mufflers that are on my fast intentions cat back exhaust. I'm going to have an opportunity to clean them up very soon and id like to clean and polish them up to their original shine. As well as keep them that way for as long as possible.

Can anyone recommend the process and products to utilize? And after polishing them is there anything I could put on them to make the shine last? like a wax?

If its really bad you can use some really fine steel wool and then use mothers alum polish to finish it off.

otherwise just using the polish should be fine and make it shine for a few weeks at least.

Nevr Dull is a good polishing product. It can remove rust and tar.
