R2C Filter Cleaning

I just bought a used pare of R2C SRI's from another member on this forum. As they are used, they need a good cleaning (not a complaint, I expected it). I did a quick glance around the internet and most people say clean the filters by soaking them inSimple Green, wait till they dry, then use compressed air from the inside out.

Question: How did you clean your R2C (or similar) filters? Is the above the best way of doing so? Anything will help.

Thanks!

Spray on the diluted cleaner onto be outside of the filter let it sit for 30 mins rinse from inside out with warm or hot water. Repeat if really dirty. Don't rinse the filter from the outside

You can use an air compressor or leaf bower and shoot from the inside out. Then wash it using mild detergent.
