Straight Pipes?

I am wondering if anyone has a resonator and a muffler delete on the sedan or have any links to sound clips? Because I have just a muffler delete and its barely loud at all so I was thinking deleting the resonators too? Has anyone heard how this sounds like? good or bad? or is it just going to be raspy as hell? Also, would an aftermarket Y-pipe like Megan Racing sound better?

that's actually without cats and without a catback either.

First of all, some people refer to test pipes as straight pipes, which makes it a bit confusing. Others even refer to straight pipes as a muffler delete.

Anyway, a resonator delete is guaranteed more drone.

If you like attention and don't mind the drone, then go for it.
Why don't you just buy at least some resonated test pipes for better sound?

In the old(er) days, a test pipe was used to replace the catalytic converter. Calling anything else a test pipe is just going to cause confusion.

If you delete the resonators it's going to be raspy and you wouldn't want that on a luxury sedan. We may have different perceptions on "loudness" but I had a muffler delete on my G35S HR sedan and it was loud not too loud but deep and smooth, but drones.

If you want it louder, I reccomend you replace the stock resonators( rather than replacing with a straight pipe) with an after market resonator which are more "high flow and might elimate any rasps and reduce drone as well, increasing the volume and depth.

You could check Vibrant resonators or MBRP resonators both universal.

Hope that helps!

If I do that then you think I should the same length as stock or get shorter resonators?

You could go with the vibrant resonators 12 inch or 18 inch 2.25 inlet/outlet idk the specific size of the stock resonators but I guess 12 or 18 inch 2.25 vibrants should work perfectly. I guess the longer the resonator, the lesser the drone so U could go with 18".

Ok but wont the length also decrease sound? I would like my car louder, so will I get a decent increase in sound with the vibrants?

Not really sure but you could go with the 12" vibrant resonators. One of the members here " Guy from norcal" has 12" vibrants on his tanabe exhaust and it made his exhaust reasonably louder. He just replaced the stock resonators with vibrants. So I guess you should give it a try, they are high flow but will def make your car louder and reduce any drone or whatsoever.
