Top speed intake?

Alot of people say the top speed yback is pretty decent. What about their intake? It looks the same as a takeda or kn short ram with kn filters on the end. I know that an intake doesnt really make power so does brand really matter. Of course there is fitment issues.

After zooming in on the extra pictures it doesnt look like quality stuff. Looks like some wonky welds on some cheap alumimum pipe.

I think I'd spend another $100 for at least an Injen SRI. I have the TopSpeed Y-back and no complaints whatsoever, but that intake looks like it would run very hot, and like you noticed the quality of the welds may leave a bit to be desired.

Stock boxes and drop ins or Takeda's cold air IMO. The R2C intakes are good tho just I had them on my G35XS just never dyno'd them

Id stay away. These cheap intakes have no regard for AF ratios. Its a tube with a filter, no testing. Stock setup or bust in my opinion (others will say stock or G3/Takeda).

As for the heatshield, it clearly says "*** Heat Shield only Applied for 370Z / For G37 Coupe Please do not use the Heat Shield ***"

From: Framingham Ma,
The Stillens( Over priced) and the Takeda's both make power and make the same, Takedas are 100+$ less too.

MAF takes care of A/F ratios. As long as it is within the intake itself, A/F ratios will be calculated by the car. Hell, you could DIY an intake with PVC pipe and a filter if you wanted to. It would run as long as the MAF is inline with the intake.

Stillen Gen 3, Takeda, R2C, Injen; they're all fine.

CAI makes more power with a tune then SRI but it's mostly personal preference.

Pretty sure that's only if the MAF Sensor were in the OEM MAF housing assembly, or an intake tube of absolutely identical diameter.

That Top Speed intake kit looks like pooh.

The MAF will do its best to make the A/F ratio work out. I never said it would run the best, just that it would run. :P

There are many many owners that make their own CAI or SRI. If you google it, you will get lots of examples. I, personally wouldn't do it for many reasons, but that's not to say it can't be done.
