Stillen Gen3 grille shield?
Stillen Gen3 grille shield?
Hi,
Just trying to decide between the Gen2 or the Gen3.
Been looking through the installation documents and they don't appear
To be compete.
On the Gen3 how does the plastic shield(bracket for the filters) attach to the back of the grill?
When the long metal tubes are installed are they pretty solid or is there movement?
Thanks guys

I've had the Gen 3's for about a year and i love em. I don't have the shield in front of the air filters and i've driven in heavy rain and no problems whatsoever; at first i was paranoid that water was going to get but nooooope all good. it is a pain in the a$$ to install but worth it (imo). you do have to do some cutting on the side where the tubes are supposed to go (hardest part for me because i didn't have the right tools =\) my tubes are pretty solid but that are some parts where it gets alittle close to some walls so i put foam tape so there is no problem there.
The sheild doesn't attach to the back of the grill. The sheild attaches to the verticl brace in front of the radiator. I have some movement with my Gen 3 as there almost needs to be due to the movement of the motor. As Vizard_87 stated some foam tape around the tube at the core support hole is advisable.
