I have used the "Search" function a bit, but didn't see a whole lot that dealt with my specific question. I figured the HFCs with stock cat back may be a more inexpensive way to get some more sound out of my sedan now, but i wasn't sure which kind was best. Seems to be a bit of a mixed bag...

Really? I've never heard one in person and the youtube videos are hard to judge. I was under the impression they all added a bit of rasp. Thanks for the info. I'll definitely have to look into them.

Everything I've heard and read has said otherwise but the proof will be in the pudding soon as I will be installing mine this week.

Is there a difference between the FI Intimidator and the FI Catback they offer on their website? I can't find the intimidator anywhere on there.

I think the intimidator is their old variant of their exhaust (don't quote me on that) and they use different pipes now hence the reason the two aren't the same.

Part of the gains and advantages from HFCs and cat back exhaust is reducing restrictions from the cars exhaust system and increasing flow. The biggest bottle neck or restriction in most cars from my experience is in the catalytic converters. Adding HFCs only will greatly reduce the exhaust systems restrictions of air flow. Even if it will not be the best formula for sound I plan to install a set of HFCs before I save up for CBE due to it being the best bang for the buck IMO.

So I guess an answer to your question is "Yes" some people install HFCs with stock cat back exhaust.

I'm happy with my AAM's- occassionally throw an O2 code, but that's no big deal to clear
