Need some help here, any suggestion is greatly appreciated. I now have Berk HFC and Fujitsubo Exhaust with stock Y pipe and mid pipe. I find the car has a "hissing" sound when the transmission is changing gears. This sound is especially loud when the exhausts are cold and the hissing sound fades away after I run the RPM to over 6500 for a few times.

The hissing sound bothers me a lot cuz it makes the car sounds like a piece of junk. I am in Taiwan and I don't have manychoices for exhaust systems. I want to get the exhaust locally for the shop's future services, so my choices are limited to HKS, Fujitsubo (with mid pipe), Impul (too expensive for me), Blitz.

So far, my personal preference will be the HKS. But, if i do go with HKS, will this eliminate the hissing sound?

Does anyone have a video or sound clip with HKS + Berk HFC? I searched on Youtube but I am not sure if the two videos I find have the Berk HFC installed or not.

 

The hissing sound is from the HFC. You will get used to the sound..

 

i cant understand how you call a BOV-like sound junk. every one of my friends who heard the sound thought I had a turbo in there haha

 

For real! haha I just enjoy listening to the revs drop due to the hissing

 

I've had the Berks for over a year now. I used to like it because it sounds a bit like turbo but after hearing my friend's 335i and Carrera 4S with HFC and muffler, I began to dislike mine. Their mods made the car sounds deeper and more solid where as mine sounds weak because of the hissing sound.

Still, the question is, would changing to HKS help to get rid of the sound?

 

No the hissing sound is from the HFC not from your exhaust.

 

even the stock exhaust has the hissing sound, you can't really get rid of it.
