That said, you can't go wrong with the Stillen Gen3. Go for it.
Yep. Its made from vegetable based oil. They color it red on purpose as a sort of reminder. I had some rubbing vacuum hoses on my old WRX and used it for that.
Seems like the R2C is in line w/ other intakes' pricing (and issues).

Thanks, Newt.
I think that every aftermarket modification requires some kind of final customization effort, whether structural or cosmetic. It could be a $3000 set of rims where you customize the center cap, or a 2-cent washer that makes all the difference in fitment on an Intake. Not to put too fine a point on it, but that's what makes the whole idea of modding a car fun.

I was thinking of getting my FSTB powder coated in the same finish as the intake mid-pipes, and wrote to R2C for information on that. Turns out it's not powder-coated at all. It's a multi-step plating process, similar to chrome plating.
Hmm. Wonder where I go with that?
[edit] Currently have emails out to a few local Plating Shops. Maybe I can get these to match. We'll see.

After some research and a ton of emails, getting the FSTB plated Black Nickel would be around $200 give or take. That's a lot. So now I'm researching Black Chrome, which is slightly different but still similar and lots more common.
IDK... The whole idea might get shelved.
[edit] shelved for the future, or never.

MAF Wire Housing
After you've taken the intake apart and re-installed a half-dozen times, you discover access to things that you might not have appreciated before. Like the small coolant return lines in the Air Conditioning system, that actually polish up real nice, like chrome. Seriously, they look fantastic with a little metal polish.
Or the bolts on the Power Steering Reservoir bracket, that could easily be replaced with something to match other custom bolts in the engine bay.
Then there's the MAF wiring. It always seemed kind of raw, and sloppy. But it's an easy thing to take what's there and simply wrap it in wire loom that matches other wireloom in the engine bay. And that let's you wrap the ends in black tape nice and clean. Totally cost-free bit of engine bay clean-up.

You can see the matching wiring now. It just has more balance.

i really don't see how you get any real gains from the intakes.. you might see a few HP from a better filter over stock but other than that i doubt you get any realy power increase to spend 500 bucks on.. Id be willing to bet just adding k7n filters over stock gies nearly identical performance..
