Concerns with R2C

Hey all, just wanted to share a few thoughts with you guys to catch an opinion. So, I purchased my R2C black nickel in July of 2012 for my 2012 xs coupe. The intakes seemed fine however, I have noticed that the rubber near the filter is melting and cracking. The rubber itself seems like a softer material, but was fine*up until this point. I live in Connecticut, so it's not like the summer gets terribly hot. Also, the fitment with these intakes has always been an issue. I had to prop some spacers under where you screw in the bracket to stop the filter from rubbing the air ducts. The bracket on the driver's side was also knocking into the engine bay, which was solved by some heavy foam padding. Anyone else experience anything like this? I'm debating on going back stock. I also emailed tunerZstore about the rubber cracking/melting.
