R2C & Me

Have an awd sedan with Ark Catback and RHFC from F.I along with a R2C intake. I feel like the car is under performing. Since the R2C only makes its signature noise at wide open throttle (which I hardly ever do) I sort of find it a waste. Would my car and engine be better off with the OEM intake?

You added 2 breathing mods to your G.

I would say keep the R2C.

I would also say its time for a custome tune. Do the tune and you should notice a huge difference.

No. Not to the point where it would matter.

IMO, he needs a tune.

I was not expecting gains at all, but I was not expecting loses either. I feel like my car has ADD at times. I hit the gas peddle and then1 second later it seems to register and scoots away. I feel like it's unsure of itself and was wondering if that had to do with my mobs. I of course plan to tune it, but not yet anyway. The car is a lease and will be going back Summer of 2014.

Well do you drive a 6MT or 7AT? If you drive a 7AT they are know for the throttle lag. You either buy a grounding kit or get a tune to remove that lag.

I was about to get an intake (yours likley, or pick any basically, they are all simar) bottom line I have learned from reading posts and talking to people who have them is this.

All intakes (for these cars) Seem to gain power in the higher RPM's, 4,500 and above, many also say that they lose low end power with their exhaust. They gain a louder sound, but their cars are slower and lack the low end they had prior to the intake being installed. I am sure if tou had a competent tuner ( doesn't seem to me a bunch out there), then I am sure the intake, combines with A CBE and HFC's, Would give a decent gain.

That being said, I am not getting an intake at all until I hear of something that really works. Guys will say their intake is great because they want to believe it, but I have talked to many; Heck, LOOK at THIS post, and the story is the same.

I just ordered an ARK GRIP CBE. Now trying to figure what HFC's to get. Or, to get any at all?

I wishes the intakes worked! On my Vette (a 2001) I have a Vortem Air Ram, and it consistently gave gains of 22 HP. My Vette is a great car to mod, but I am learning you pay for a lot of bolt on mods, and in return get minimal gains. I think a CBE and HFC's are a good sound and decent gain mod.

Just my 2 cents.
