Tanabe vs Optional Sport muffler

So I'm looking to purchase an axleback system for my G37 coupe. I've been looking at the Tanabe medallion and also recently the sport muffler from Infiniti because of the similar price. I have not heard either of these systems in person and wondered if anyone had advice as far as what each systems' characteristics are and the differences and similarities between the two are. Thanks for any help.

If you're looking at a Sport Package muffler from a G37S as compared to a regular G37, then there will be no difference, because both the Sport and the non-Sport have the same exact exhaust system. Tanabe will be louder, and will also probably look better than a stock-looking one which will give you no difference at all. I think your choices from axle-backs are limited to Tanabe and Megan Racing. And seeing that way more people have Tanabe, I would go with that.

I have the Tanabe on my G37 S and I love the sound. Currently I have installed the Stillen Gen. 3 CAI, Tanabe Axle back, Mid-pipe.... I am sure you will love the sound...

What I mean is the sport muffler that is offered by Infiniti through their accessories catalog.

I've never heard of that option before. I've only heard something of that sort being offered on the JDM Skyline 370-GT models, but never on a standard USDM G37.

It's the Sport muffler offered for $800, yes it's JDM, made by Fujitsubo.

I would rather get the Fujitsubo Legalis-R.

Sport Muffler the OP is referring to is not stock exhuasts that ALL THE G37 s have.
It's Muffler that comes in IPL.
but i herad it, and it's nice, but not too much difference in sound. Just stock, a bit louder.
If you wanna pay 700~800 for the mufflers. go with Tanabe. I have it, and it sounds amazing.

^^ This exhaust looks fantastic, but sounds exactly the same as stock. And it's not like you'll be driving at high RPM's every time you're on the road. For the price, it's a waste, in my opinion. Go with Tanabe, and you'll be happier.

‪2008 G37 Fujitsubo Japan factory option axleback.‬‏ - YouTube

This system sounds significantly better than the OEM sport exhaust system. (This is NOT the same as the Fujitsubo Legalis-R... )

Yes I am talking about that infiniti sport muffler. Questions I had were compared to the Tanabe which is louder, and is one deeper or higher pitch sounding compared to each other

I think the Tanabe looks better since it's two individual pieces but that's just me

I've had both the Tanabes and the IPL (sport muffler) mufflers and Tanabes are way better.

Just recently got Tanabes and they are quite a bit louder than stock. I feel that it is a bit too much sometimes, especially when I'm accelerating. I do hear some droning occurring on the highway as well going ~75mph at 2.5-3k RPM. I'll see how I feel about these a bit more!
