just installed the HPS intake hoses myself. and the right side went in perfectly but the left side went in, but is awkwardly positioned so its pushed in a little. i can definitely feel the speed increase but my "service check engine" sign is on. is this normal or should i get it checked out professionally? i can post pics up tomorrow

 

You shouldn't be seeing a check engine light on just with those tubes. Does the car drive OK? I would double check all of the maf sensor connections and make sure you re-installed the mafs the right way.
