i read that thread and have r2c's r2c's sound amazing i have no idea how stillen would sound better. but the 22 hp OVER r2c i think is ridiculous, and intake alone wont make that much power let alone 22 hp more then another

pretty sure i was on of the first g37s with the stillen intake installed, I did it myself and it took about 10 hours because I had no idea of what I was doing. My car made 300hp to the wheel after i dynoed it but I also had Berk HFC. I does give you power no doubt - I would say go for it if you dont plan on going FI its one of the best intakes that you can buy that will give you the most HP.

I actually had Both the Gen 2 and Gen3 installed on my car. The gen2 sounds better and looks better than stock but didnt really notice anything different. I can tell you this , I felt the difference with Gen3. Gen3 is their Cold Air Intake version I think its called the Long tube or something. Its a bitch too install but the air filter are located in a much better place that breath cold air right behind the grill rather than under the hood with the Gen 2.

For those of you who have the Gen 3 installed. There is no way to get it back to stock is there?

That was my car. Mind you, I also have HFC and FI CBE. But the dyno doesn't lie.

Not as far as the intake holes you have to saw bigger. But everything else, of course there is. Just save everything in a box.

Josh,

Gen 3 for sure. Everything about this product is great: sound, power, and look. Long tube behind grill is best. Install is somewhat of a biatch, but well worth it. One side tends to rub against a support, but is easily ground down or even blocked out with neoprene spacer. Mid range power is a real kick. Sound with catbacks really blows people away when they ride with me.

Like what was already posted: everything easily goes back to stock except if you ground down support frame for greater clearance. But grinding isn't absolutely necessary. A reinforced neoprene spacer will keep the tube off the support frame without any impact on performance. Even with grinding the support frame it all still goes back to stock and someone would really have to look to see where opening was increased to fit the tube through.

No risk if you are concerned about a leased vehicle upgrade and then return to stock at end of lease period.
