Honestly if you cant afford the stillen gen 3 then I would not buy anything. Saving up the money for the best product is the best way to go in the long run. just my opinion

With the stillen gen 3 intake you get covers to go infront of the filters. I buddy of mine has the cai and ran into some problems in the rain. so far me nor anyone I know has had a problem with their GEN 3 in the rain

when it rains hard do you stop driving or keep on??im paranoid when it comes to theses things and i like peace of mind.
Those stillen shields dont look like they hold back water much. but i could be wrong.

looks like im getting the gen1 for 260 shipped i can always sell it and try something else later

Don't waste your $ onthe Gen 1. Save up for at least the Gen 2 or R2c.

the r2c doesnt have heat shields and the gen2 is almost the same as gen1 exept it replaces the intake tubes too . i dont see a big difference in these short rams.why are those two better??

thanks for everyones input.

Not to be mean or anything, but you are definitely wrong. The shields on the Gen3 keep the filter protected very well.

I've been driving through insane rain and snow and have had huge amount of water thrown on my car by trucks and 18 wheelers...unless you drive into a lake you have nothing to worry about with hydro-locking
