I did read on Stillen SC development thread though that they'll be offering pre-tuned maps to go with stock headers, HFCs & Catback. That's why they advised to stay away from LT Headers since adding those (without a tune) will lean out your SC'ed engine and that's basically asking for trouble.
But thats not what I was disagreeing with.

More Flow Less Ballz for SC
When having turbo, new headers new test pipes 3' is a good to go for more ballz
For SC changing those and having more flows will make less power
Back then when Sam tuned my sc g35 he told me that if I had stock headers or cats I would've squeezed out a little more power.

Comparing identical cars with the same exact SC. One with stock exhaust and the other with a less restrictive exhaust, provided the car is tuned properly, the one with the less restrictive exhaust will produce more power.
I dont get how a properly tuned car will get more power with stock headers vs LTHs.

Stillen did mention something about not to mess with the tune unless necessary or going with their tuner kit, as they will be providing an out of the box tune.

Agreed. Especially if you dont have any stock components at all on your exhaust and you have a very very free flowing exhaust.
.....although on some of the past cars I have owned, a company or two developed LTH's and after installing them, the A/F ratios were fine and the car didnt require a tune. Im sure FI is looking at this and will let you know what the headers to to the A/F ratio.

You will only see the true potential of those with a tune, without a tune, they put down numbers very similar to those you'd get with a test pipe and CB combo
Is it mandatory though? I don't think so. If only companies would offer us tunes to the VVEL to get even better numbers from the Cams+Headers combo

A tune is only going to be completely necessary if you're going to be running aftermarket intakes. The stock air boxes don't bring in enough cold air to cause an issue, but the Injen CAI and the Stillen G3s do. If you're not ready to get a tune and want to do the long tubes, do it, but just run the stock intakes until you have the time to get a custom tune.
