Y pipe only swap

Has anyone done this and left the rest of the exhaust OEM?

G37 Y-pipe

Any boost in sound? I thought this might a less expensive and stealth route to more exhaust sound.

Thing is, you'll replace your y-pipe. Then get excited and want more, so you'll get mufflers. Then even more and so on, it's like crack.

Just get a catback and call it a day.. my 2 Fils

Then you'll want more so you get test pipes, then you think its raspy so you get resonators welded in, then you want more again so you wait and wait for long tube headers. Sounds like someone I know.

I think one guy just changed out the y-pipe. He said no difference in sound, but a little more pull in the midrange. IMO its not worth it. If you want something stealth, there are the a couple catbacks that look almost stock, like borla. If you want something simple, just go with the Tanabe mufflers

dont do it.... I wanted a exhaust. so i bought my megan. After a while with the megan i loved the sound, but i wanted a diff look, / louder / power. So i sold the megan for like HALF of what i originally bought it for so lost money. Save your money and just get a catback lol..... seriously. or maybe tanabes cause the dual canisters are beast.

not worth doing just the y-pipe alone.. gains are very minimal and you won't really feel the difference..

Do mean the sound gains are minimal? I don't care about power gains.

There are no audible sound gains. Not even a little. Not even 1%

If you really want sound gains get long tube headers, X pipe and FI exhaust.
