Carbon residue on my exhaust
I bought the 09 in January, 7AT g37s. I've drove it to about 7,700 however I noticed something that I did not on my other cars. I have black carbon residue heavy embedded on my exhaust. I'm bringing it in the dealership next Thursday, however I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

Try this....wear some light colored pants and stand in front of one of your exhaust tips. The black stuff that stains your pants is what is depositing on your exhaust. Did the service guy at Infiniti say this deposit was abnormal? I dunno, for some reason, it seems like the G37 is the first car for a lot of members here?

If you wanna get rid of that carbon residue, try Eagle One "Nevr Dull" wadding polish. You can get this for $5-6 at Advance Auto Parts in the Wash/Detailing area of the store. Takes most of the carbon right off in a few swipes. Works great.

This is one of my pet peeves believe it or not. Lol. When I had my stock exhaust on, I would scrub the exhaust tips really good to make sure I wouldn't get any carbon build-up on them. IMO it makes the car look trashy no matter how clean the actual car is. Weird I know, whateva.

I would just use my Meguires Gold Class Car wash soap on any build-up that had accumalated since the prior wash. I had been doing that since my first wash and they stayed clean and shiny I do the same thing to my lady's Altima and they're clean too

See, you waited to long to act and it's too late! Lolz.
That "Nevr Dull" stuff that Knoxville recommended should do the trick. It works on most blemishes on every metal.

I have always used this metal polish on my exhaust. Always comes out looking brand new. I use it on the insides on the exhaust tips as well. IMO it gives the car that lil bit extra. Works great for intakes too. You can pick this cleaner up at you local Advanced Auto Parts or Pep Boys.
