Takeda intake anyone seen this???
Came across this earlier http://www.hopupracing.com/tausareairin4.html
just wondering if anyone has seen this or heard of the brand. Dont really know what to say about it. Looks to me to have pretty decent heat sheilds, and the price isnt too bad.

^^ Agreed..
And the Injen CAI and Stillen will AT MOST give you about 1-3 more..
Only reason i went R2C is because of their filter design, all intakes are prety much the same..Which is why i have no clue where SE get's off charging so much for a SRI..

but i do agree that any short ram intake for these cars will yield very similar gains and they won't be much, but the stillen 3g and the injen have proven 10+ whp gains

This is IMO...BTW
Because having HUGE fans blowing on your car's engine to keep it cool is nowhere near regular driving conditions, so i dont know how these claims are legit.. Thats all

I hear ya, this doesnt even need to be an arg. Just stating an opinion..
If intakes made so much HP as claimed... Why wouldnt the dealer just use a system similiar to that... In fact why are there NO cars that come stock with CAI "LIKE" systems?
I just think the data is a little skewed 1- for the fans (because there is no way an INJEN CAI get's that much Air behind all that plastic (nor does it stay as cool), and no way it can be good to get as much as Stillen) and 2 - Some people have reported losses with intakes..So how does that happen if they are guaranteed to put out 10+ hp??
Getting a tune is a different situation i realize that, it totally changes the map of you car adjusting to current A/F ratios etc.. I would agree THEN that an intake could produce decent gains, and there could be a diff between SRI and CAI...

Ok obviously no one likes to read reviews or anything on the forums.
Let me explain why the Injen design is superior to the lackluster short-rams. First off, it's basic science that cold air SINKS and hot air RISES. The location of the Injen filters are ideal for this, as they are located towards the ground. Stillen 3g intakes and short-rams in general are sucking in HOT air because they are higher up where HOT air rises.
Ok I'll answer your other question, real life conditions? Overheating? When obviously, when your driving, wind is blowing towards the car, similar to a fan blowing in to a car during a dyno session. Short rams are more prone to heat soak because the filters are in the engine bay where the heat is mostly generated!!!! Injens are made of Aluminum, which is a semi-conductor of heat. It has a special characteristic that is will not absorb ALL the heat, which is why Injen went with this material compared to other metals which are extremely prone to heat soak.
Some people feel a loss at first because the ECU is adjusting to the new intakes, plus the A/F reading with Injen CAI is EXTREMELYYYYYYYYYYYYY close to stock, check out Stillens 3G A/F reading and you will be shocked where the readings are.
The dealer making it CAI? First of all, get it straight, dealers are the middle man when it comes to cars, they SELL the cars, they DON'T make them. Plus, most dealerships SELL aftermarket parts, like Grubbs, Riverside, and other dealerships, this is how everyone makes money my man.

Here is a stillen making 11HP..

DynoJet Dyno
Bone Stock 271whp
SE Intakes only 284whp
SE Intakes with fan blowing on intake 298whp
I know I need to get you the dyno charts. We had a new computer put in for the dyno and the charts are still in there.

Here is the injen SRI agining 12hp
https://www.myg37.com/forums/support...re-orders.html
Here is a JWT getting 10
https://www.myg37.com/forums/intake-...nd-review.html
Here is UCLA's Injen getting 16.5hp... ALLL less then 10+ more then a SRI...
So really, even though you are all over injen's pipes....How are they different..
Like i said in the beginning the intakes are prety much all the same except for location..And i would bet that if you shut the hoods and dynoed the cars without fans they would be even closer..
Look at SE's numbers...SRI

Honestly, you can't compare SRI to CAI , two complete different things. It's like saying compare Greddy/Tanabe mufflers to any full catback exhaust right now, not the same.
