Go with the Stillen Gen 3 intake and Borla Cat-Back. I still am very skeptical on how the Injen CAI gets any air when it's stuck in the bumper unless you take those little knock outs out.

The Gen3's get lots of air, and they sound great. Borla has nice gains as well, it just depends on what sounds good/suits your budget.

it seems to me that the stillen will run lean cause there's so much air...

My vote is for the JWT Pop Chargers coupled with the upcoming Mackin MXP catback. Unless you are just getting an exhaust for noise - then go for the Tanabe which leaves u modifying less of the car and affect A/F ratio less but still saves you $$ and gives you great refined tone. Either way talk to Andy at HPAutoworks. He will hook you up with a good deal and a fast ship.

hm i know this is probably a newb question... but how does exhaust affect A/F ratio... exhaust has nothing to do with the amount of air that gets into the engine? that would be the intake? or does the backpressure have some kind of affect? fill me in cause i'm ignorant.

Not that I know of that it can cause the car to run rich/lean. Some exhausts will make you lose back pressure I.E. TQ by making the pipes too big or lack of R&D for the mufflers.

Yeah, I can tell, and has yet to answer my last group of questions so I'm going to assume the answers......

Heat is a ?! It all makes sense now.............stereotypical, I know.

6 years ago I was a sophomore in college working in the Sears Auto Center

And yes, some back-pressure is needed to keep the engine running properly. My motorcycle has an exhaust valve that regulates the back-pressure. I'm surprised cars haven't incorporated this yet. I'm not sure if the exhaust would effect the A/F ratio since the piston is going to force the same amount of exhaust out anyways. What are everyone else's thoughts on that? Think about it logically though. The exhaust just lets the spent air out easier but the piston forces the same amount of exhaust out regardless since the stroke doesn't change. I haven't gotten an exhaust yet, but I've heard good things about Borla, Stillen, and Fast Intentions. I'll be getting a FI cat-back when I get back from deployment. They sound sooooo damn good!

OP, bottom line is, if you want an SRI, get which ever one you think looks/sounds the best or fits your budget because they're all easy to install/uninstall and have the same gains. You want a CAI, think about where you want the filters to be and if you want to sacrifice your full sized washer fluid tank(Injen). As for exhaust, the Borla has the highest "claimed" gains and the consensus that I've seen on here is that the FI Intimidator is the most popular, followed by Stillen, and then HKS, Tanabe, and Borla. Unless the exhaust poll numbers have changed since I last looked. FI has a deeper/louder tone, Stillen has a louder stock tone, and I don't know about the others.

You only asked one question, not a group of them!

This is not really the place to go off subject which is why I stopped before the mods came in here and stopped it themselves. If you want to go off subject than you should take it to the Useless thread. But since you keep antagozing it......actually, last time I checked clutch, shifter, cut-out (welded on), and flywheel aren't bolt-ons. No, I didnt do it all by myself. Not sure that I know a lot of people that put their own cam & lifters in. And yes, I am a girl, but I obviously know more about my car than you know about yours. If you would like to stereotype than I can do the same to you. It goes both ways. I dont claim to know about things that I dont know and I dont give reviews on products in which I dont have or have never dealt with.

You're not worth taking it to the Off-Topic section anymore. Waste of my time debating with someone that doesn't turn wrenches on their own cars. Go back to doing your nails, hair, and looking pretty in your car instead of trying to talk cars.

OP and Mods, sorry for cluttering up the thread. I now see it was pointless given who was on the other end of it.

What kind of gains and difference in tone can you expect with the INJEN short ram (or JWT can't decide) and the Tanabe Medallion Touring Exhaust? Which one is a better combo to go with? Thanks.
