Use the search button. There are plenty of threads on the topic of water and CAI's.

In short, no you should be fine. Espcially since the G3's sit infront of the radiator unless the vents on your hood extend down that far it should be fine.

most people fear this but to me i think the engine is so hot that even if water get in there it would just turn to vapors. Also for a CAI to get hydrolock you have to cover the whole filter in a puddle or even hit a puddle full throttle.

Also you dont have things that come with the hood to close up the vents?

also agree with wakeboard the Stillen g3 sit in front of the grill so it wouldnt matter on the vent.

A lot of people here with the CF hood with vents don't drive in the rain period regardless of intake.

basically get the CAI, your friend mis-informed. you won't hydrolock your engine... even if you're driving through rain and puddles.

Get the Stillen G3, put mine on couple weeks ago now and have been caught in the rain several times with no issues. Vents in the hood won't bother the G3.

With Injen's CAI, is it normal for the filter to be wet when driving in rain and over puddles? Usually Seattle doesn't get hard rain but for some odd reason today it was raining pretty hard. I was driving slow to be safe but when I got home to check the filters they were both wet. Not drenched, but wet. It seems like the water is coming from the intake holes that used to go into the OEM filters from the grille. So is anyone experiencing wet CAI filters when driving in the rain?
