Exhaust Questions
Exhaust Questions
I'm wanting to purchase the FI exhaust for my 09 6MT Sedan. I spoke with FI and they said they usually use 2 1/4" on the sedan due to the sound resonating inside the cabin of the sedan. They can make it in 2 1/2" if I want. Also, the same goes for using HFC or Test Pipes. I would really like to go the 2 1/2" with Test Pipes, but I'm afraid the interior noise may not be acceptable. I do have to haul around 2 kids from time to time in the back seat.
I've considered adding some Dynomat or something to the floor board thinking that would help.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

FI's exhaust is not a quiet one. Will that be ok with your kids?

The sound clip on their web site sounds great....nice deep tone, no rasp, and not that loud. It is on a G37 Coupe. The guy at FI said it has to do with the larger interior....the sound comes in and reflects off the back glass.
I just wish I knew how much louder the catbacks with the HFCs will be inside the car. I can't hear my exhaust at all now, just the motor itself. These cars are insulated pretty well I think. Would this combination, along with Dynomat on the floor board and possibly the trunk result in a quite combination????
