Questions about new G37s...
I have talked to the previous owner of my G37s journey, sport pkg, premium, etc. He told me that he took the resonator off and also put straight pipes on. What exactly does this mean and also do I need to change this back because it might hurt my car in the long run. He also use to have Fujita CAI but put the stock intakes back on when he traded it in, are there real improve with CAI (I have found a F5 Fujita with heatr shields for 250). I searched and found the cobbs report that says you actually lose hp with them. Please I need any info that you will give, I am new to the import sports car scene (use to have a Jeep Wrangler Sport). Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!! I don't know anything about the questions you asked; I have stock intakes/exhaust. And like you, I'm new to the import sports car scene, but learning more everyday. Enjoy the new car; you're gonna love it!!
I don't think Fujita has made a CAI. He probably had the short-ram and told you he had an CAI instead. But now that you have the stock intake, you're fine. Most people got improvement from Injen or Stillen Gen3 CAI, some from JWT short-rams. But even that, most would agree that our stock intakes are already very good. No need for aftermarket intakes, unless you want it primarily for the sound.
As for the exhaust. I don't think straight pipes and no resonator will hurt your car at all. If anything, it gives it a better flow. That setup will have a raspy sound when you punch the gas hard, which some do not like at all.
Test pipes means he replaced the catalytic converters with pipes only. This is actually technically illegal in CA, check with TX emission laws if you're worried.

Thanks alot UCLA. What is the resonator and where is it? I love the sound my car makes. I think it might be illegal in TX. The previous owner said he would give the resonators back to me if I wanted them.
Andrew, welcome to you too. I am also learning sooo much each day from this forum alone.
Where is the best place to buy the Key Hole delete from?

Keyhole delete is a great mod. I also recommend throwing some pure-white LEDs into your map lights and door lights. It's probably the one single mod with the highest time/cost to benefit ratio!
Resonator is in the mid pipe, I think. It tones down the exhaust note and makes it a little more pleasing to the ears.

I realized that I meant to say test pipes instead of straight pipes. Don't know what your seller meant. Might just be that he replaced the resonator with straight piping as opposed to getting test pipes, which replaces the cats.
Flow of your exhaust gas:
Chamber -> headers -> catalytic converter -> y-pipe -> mid pipe (with resonator) -> muffler -> atmosphere -> your lungs
The 2 cans in the middle of the pipes are the resonators.

Thanks for all the info and help. I guess I am going to have to take a look underneath and see whats there.
Andrew, where do I get the led lights and where do I find out how to replace them. EDIT. ok I did a search and found them. Now is there anyplace where to get them locally, like autozone or something like that.
