So after realizing, that not only does my exhaust sit lower then it should but it

also has the wrong tip style and their only 4" instead of 4.5" i called Borla and spoke with a guy in their customer service/warranty dept. He asked my to send off some pics of the tips and a copy of my receipt. I paid $200 to have the thing installed though so if they offer to send me a new one im going to have to pay to have this one taken out and another $200 to have the new one reinstalled

wow... sucks to hear... although if you paid 200 to have it installed... you should go file rape charges on the place that installed it...

they added some welds even though its a bolt on to keep make it extra secure so it was worth it, i live in an area where everything is $$$, even the local meineke said it would be about $150 +

not sure, the shop that installed it said it fit with just a little bit of adjusting here and there and everything lines up so i assume its for my car except the tips are low and the wrong size

yeah i guess but even with new tips its still going to sit low, the shop might have to cut the hangers shorter but i feel i shouldnt have to pay for custom work on an exhaust that doesnt fit properly

i dont think its the whole thing because it wouldnt fit at all otherwise, it seems the problem is just with the actual muffler hangers and tips

Max, did you notice that the tips on his borla are different from the ones You and I got? Look at the pics in your old thread.

https://www.myg37.com/forums/intake-...nd-videos.html

Here is mine

Something changed there? Did Borla do a revision or just update the tips.

TicketProof. Do you have pics of the whole Borla system before you had it installed??

nope didnt take pics, i didnt even take it out of the box, just brought it over to the installer. The tips in your pic are the correct ones according to the guy from Borla so i got some sort of messed up order or mixed up exhaust kit.

so i just got a response from Borla:

Jack:

You are correct that the tips are supposed to be 4 ½” and be phantom tips. I am having my warehouse check the other systems we have to see what tips they have on them. Once I hear back from then, I will let you know how we will proceed. As far as the tips hanging down too far, if you have the proper tip, I believe that would resolve this issue.

Cordially,

TicketProof, did you order the wrong kit maybe? Is the model number BORLA 140260 - Infiniti G37?? I'm wondering if you got the wrong exhaust and the shop just rigged it to get it to fit. If you look at the one for the G35(2008) it looks like it has similar length tubing, but lacks the big fat muffler.

G37 Borla.

G35(2008) Borla

Look under your car and tell us what type of muffler you got.
