That's what I tried to do, but the hex broke off the screw!! I hope I can remove it. The dealership is gonna charge an outrageous price for a replacement screw, I just know it...

 

I have broken the 2 screws myself adjusting and removing, but locally we have a store called "Casa de los tornillos" (House of screws) that can get you whatever you need, I got 4 of those for $2. That way I replaced the 2 I broke and kept 2 just in case.

 

Try local hardware store like Home Depot? How did you break off the hex from the screw? Haha.

You know it's funny u say this because I was thinking the same thing today, while my bracket was still not correct while following the out of box instructions maybe it was changed enough that I was able to pretty easily get mine to both line up perfectly with the method that I used. I starting thinking that if UCLA is having such trouble, maybe my brackets are different. Maybe Andy from HP can shed some light on whether or not JWT actually did alter the brackets?

 

Hey guys, i knew what i was in for with the install, but just wondering if there was any update on this from the OP? I'm havin the same issues of course, and am trying some suggestion that you guys have made. I hafta go to Home Depot today to get some more bolts because i am actually missing one that should have came with the intakes. I'll just pick up some extra as well while im there.

I really dont see how the passenger side braket will attach to the filter. Gonna try removing the black mounting peice from the frame.

It seems so odd for this filter to fit, because i dont see how it can get down past and clear the power steering fluid bottle. >_< Any advice guys?

So i never got the screw in.... gonna hafta do something about it later. and also the rubbing against the power steering fluid bottle cant be good. =\

 

The fitment of the intakes is pretty bad .. Thats why i sold mine ...

Ahuja, I think you may have got the wrong side bracket on the passenger side.

 

The 2 brackets are of different length. I used the shorter one on passenger side and longer one on the driver side I think.

In hindsight, if I were to do an install for someone right now. I'm pretty sure it can be done in under an hour, without heat wrap. As long as you have an idea of what you're getting yourself into, and with the help of the forum, it shouldn't be that bad.

yea i used the short one on the passenger side. idk what it is but i never cd get the screw to go in the hole as shown in the pic.

im considering using a heavy duty zip tie.... >_< lmao... like the ones i get with Betty's grounding kit.

 

It looks like you're very close in the first pic. Try taking off the black metal bracket from the frame, attaching it to the JWT bracket first. Then twist and turn the whole thing little by little to get it to go back onto the frame.

That's what I did, took that off, attached it to the JWT bracket first.
