STILLEN Generation 3 intake!!!
I finished install without removing the bumper, it's not hard. Intake is awesome!! I took some install pics and video of how it sounds, it gets an a plus in my book. I'll dyno tomorrow. This intake rocks IMO!! Definite power gains
Oh that's good news cuz I'm gonna tackle this thing saturday and was hoping I could do it without removing the bumper. How did it go with the part about making the holes larger to fit the pipes through?
I realize there is a ton of discussion on oiled filters and MAF concerns.. but keep in mind there has been a ton of research on both sides of the fence, and no one has invested more in testing than K&N, to be honest to dispute claims developed by other filter manufacturers.
I have zero desire to get into a filter war, I can tell you STILLEN has been using K&N filter successfully since the inception of the company, and I'm aware of ZERO returns or issues with MAF fouling. Some info from K&N, who as you can imagine has been faced with these questions for years..

okay well, i pulled off the grill and that allowed me to get the passenger side pipe in with out to much trouble, i wrapped the pipes in a papertowel and some electrical tape to avoid scratching them. trying the drivers side now.
pics and vids posted of this intake, check this thread : https://www.myg37.com/forums/showthr...85#post2438385
yes , ill post up some pictures.
sounds louder def, feels stronger -- i have a base line dyno but would need to go back to get a comparison.
here are a couple hints for the people doing this:
When you are cutting the plastic hole bigger wear eye protection. I used a dremel and a circle sand head and basically melted the plastic.
dont take off the front bumper, take off the grill instead
wrap up the pipes in something if you are not taking off the bumper, else you will scratch them up.
When taking off the "upper cover", over the radiator, also take off the white Reservoir, this makes it much easier to get the cover off.
I had to move the horn a little
the wire harness attached to the "upper cover" will not go back because the wires are not long enough, i just wire tied them to another tied down wire.
the T clamps are easy if you have long sockets.
