Buying headers, need help deciding...

K, so I've decided tear up my knuckles again and devote 8 hours to put on headers but I'm having trouble deciding which material to buy them in. The Stillen headers come in 304 SS, 409SS, and 409SS ceramic coated. Now I had a set of Borla headers on my old G35 and was pleased with them but i can't seem to find out what grade of SS they were made of.

So my question is what do you reccomend as the best material to get for the headers. I don't care about the asthetics because they are so jammed up in there you can't see them anyway but I do care about strength and preformance. Is the 304 that much superior to the 409 that the welds will hold better and have more longetivity? And as for the ceramic coated, is the likelyhood of the coating flaking off after a few years great enough to outweight the benefits of the ceramic coating if any?

he just said that headers are a pain, he wants input on which ones are best. I personally would do the ceramic coated if you don't care about looks.

Have you heard of anyone with ceramics on their G35/350z flaking in recent years? Are the cheap brands like DC the ones who have given ceramic coated a bad name?

I'm not aware of the flaking issues, but also I haven't really investigated this type of purchase for the G either. Here is a link that explains 304 vs 409.
