Of course you could always reset the ECU everytime you get in the car...

IMO... I want to know what a mod makes everytime I drive the car... so thats why I think When your testing modifications..... you install ... drive a lil ... reset the ECU... drive a few driving cycles...and then dyno... I could care less about what it makes right after one resets the ECU...

Thats just my opinion
I agree only if the dyno runs are done on the same. The other thing to is I have never found a concrete answer on how long it takes the ECU to adjust. Some say a couple miles and some say a thousand miles. Does anyone have any facts on how long it takes the ECU to adjust correctly? IMO I think it adjusts rather quickly and then starts to fine tune which I got to see on the dyno when I did my install. The first run after the JWT install with no ECU reset was 2HP/5TQ increase, the next was 5 to 7HP/5TQ increase then we did the reset if I remember correctly. Then did about 10 more runs on the dyno until the car gave steady numbers in a row. Actually 3 very similar runs in a row. But IMO the numbers are going to be less accurate if you do a dyno one day and then do the dyno another day then doing it with an ECU reset right after as long as you do runs until you get three identical/very similar runs in a row. But then again this is just my opinion.

I agree. My guess is that most ECU's will lean the variables back to OEM spec...so in general, I'd think there would be a loss in power after daily driving the car for a while. Of course there's other who think the opposite and suggest people drive a while before the dyno to get max power.

OK, is this ECU reset a must? I Installed my Injen, and just disconneted my Batt. that was for like 3hrs.? From what I know, disconnecting the Batt, also erases the ECU?? Or do I half to do this reset procedure? Just really want the low down if I half to do the reset, or just disconnecting the Batt works the same way. Just half to reset some of your settings in the car after you re-connect the Batt. Would appreciate the Info.

If you disconnected the battery for that long then the ECU should be reset. You can do it that way or by doing it the tech way. IMO you don't have to reset the ECU. The ECU will adjust eventually but reseting the ECU helps the car adjust to the new mods quicker, IMO.

OK, SO If I try this ECU Reset. is it the same procedure as the G37 way? I don't know if it's diffrent procedures on my Sedan than the 37? Since I already see the How-to on this forum.

geezus, I thought aftermarket corvette parts were only subject to rape tax....$500 to gain 4hp? thats horrible bang for buck. just goes to show nissan did excellent work on the factory system, very nice job. you had REALLY better like that intake sound over stock to shell out that kind of money. try doing something useful with the money like paying the car note down instead - lol

I have been out of the country for the past 7 days, I come back home tonight pull up these boards and what did I learn........ NOTHING, that's what I learned, we are still spilling page after page of assumptions and opinions just as we have for the past month or so. We still have no solid before and after dynos of the Injen CAI on a stock G, and yet so many are still making assumptions and conclusions based on what?????? If this board is generating this much drama without any conclusive evidence, I can't wait till the dynos start rolling in, cause one way or the other things are really going to pick up, LOL!!! We ain't seen nothing yet, get your popcorn and ready!!!!

I got a problem with this post because it is up to the members on this forum to post these types of dyno's. PMS did and people were pissed that it only produced 5HP. A person with a stock system did a dyno as well but didn't step up and post his dyno. And from what I hear from some reliable sources it produced less then PMS's. See the major problem with the Injen intake is that is takes so long to install and it is a pain. I doubt we will ever see a true before/after dyno on the same day for this intake. Now you are basing your belief that the Injen intake makes a huge amount of power on a stock intake based on faith yet you criticize other people for believing that this intake makes no real power based on faith. The other issue I have been having is people not posting on here if they get bad numbers like this previous guy I talked about. I got my JWT intake from Andy but I hold no loyalty to JWT or Andy when it comes to numbers. I will post what I get. If I lost power on the dynos I did then I would post them up. Andy knew this but he had faith that the intake would produce power which I did too. If it didn't produce power the dyno sheets would still have been posted with my review and it probably would have hurt JWT and Andy's sales at least from people on this site. I posted that my intake has an issue with the mounting bracket on the left intake which we got to work. I don't believe that this will be something others will have to worry about just like the issue Max had with his Injen intake but I posted it because it was part of my experience and it could help someone else who might look at all the parts before going to intall this at a dyno place. Also, this whole "wait until someone dynos this on a stock G37" is a JOKE. Who is only going to be upgrading their intake only on the G37? No one in their right mind would just upgrade their intake only on the G37 especially when the exhaust sucks as much as it does (at least the muffler). So why don't you or someone else do this, buy the Injen and take it to a dyno shop. Do a before dyno with the stock intake, take the car off the dyno and spend 1 to 3 hours installing the intake, put the car back on the dyno, and do the after dyno. Most importantly POST THE SHEETS ON THE FORUM when you are done!!! So the most concrete numbers that the Injen intake has on this forum is the numbers by PMS. If you don't like it then man/woman up and go do a before/after dyno on your Injen if you have it. If you don't then buy it and do it. BTW, I don't think the Injen is a "bad" intake but, IMO, the JWT has much more potential. Now stop eating popcorn and go buy your Injen and do the dynos.

Here's a thought. If your JWT only produced 2hp/5tq on the 1st dyno after install, but later had an average of significantly higher after TEN runs, who is to say that it is better than the Injen in terms of power, when typically only one or two runs have been done post-Injen install?

I learned exaclty what I was looking for and that was how a modded car (like mine) responds to an over hyped intake. I did not expect 14whp so I was not let down. I simply wanted to know if this is something I should consider buying and that answer is definitely NO.
