My point was that it wasn't gonna get you 14hp+. Maybe 6 or 8hp if you're lucky. I'm just sick of all the hype that's created by the manufacturers.

But why would they make any horsepower at all? They have to have some advantage over stock in order to make more hp...but from your post, sounds like stock shoulda made more than aftermarket. So somethings not adding up.

If you look at the product you recieve, 2 bent metal pipes, some chrome, and some clamps, and two cone filters just costed you several hundred dollars... Who cares about the price of a G35 CAI? I just hope it ain't an INJEN!!! LOL!!! You can use the the throttle plate not being coherent with pedal position excuse all you want. Why did INJEN advertise such horsepower gains knowing that all our cars have this issue? I don't recall INJEN saying that G37's on the road will need further tuning to get 14+hp. It was simply said --- Buy our intakes = 14hp gains. Enough with the excuses already...SHEESH!!!

Im just trying to debunk the 14hp myth. Cone filters do have less restriction that our stock paper air filters. That's where you're getting most of the gain. That also comes into play when you're rpm's are up there. Notice how most hp gains from intakes are up in the high rpm's?

It seems they failed to mention whether or not they actually tuned their car, or just slapped a couple pieces of piping with a filter on the end to receive these types of gains. Before the intakes were launched, Injen had more then enough time for R&D to know all the possible outcomes with their product. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I still want to know what they base their gains off of.

In that event, short ram should make more hp than CAI. Yet short rams have dyno'd at zero or less than stock on our cars (with a few exception dynos). Plus in most instances I've seen on other cars, CAI has more gains than short rams. It will be interesting what the JWT's dyno at. I do agree with you on the 14hp though. That is hoping for too much on an NA engine.

Hahah man Da Hashi, so much anger. lol.

So from what gxerboi was putting together, we would want black ripple for creating air turbulence, shorter piping distance for the air to travel and less chance of heat soak, better location to get higher air velocity, and cone-shaped filter..........hm sounds like a JWT? Hahah jk. Everybody buy one, quick!

look....

Check this... a very high percentage of people who purchased the CAI are not satisfied due to the manufacturer overpromising and underdelivering. Period. If the manufacturer knew that there would be more mods to be done for the hp to be realized, then they should have stated so. If the hp gains were mild then the price should've been mild also. Agree?? You all should contact the manufacturer for some kind of solution. There are a lot of you. You guys can do a lot more than just post here...
