I'd rather go with a full catback, IMHO

Does anybody know about the diameter for the Greddy?, I ordered and I'm waiting for the Greddy to arrive, and then I saw this, I'm contacting Hector and he is telling that I may need to go with a 2.75" setup, but then he asked me to measure the Greddy pipes and flange, but I still don't have it and the website doesn't give specific information about it.

Any info will be great, thanks.

im pretty sure the greddy was 2.75. hector can make the y pipe in 2.75 to match up to the greddy. he was also talking about maybe doing a 3" for people who needed that application

Thanks for the reply. Well, that's what he is also thinking but I just want to be sure before I decide, I'm planning to install these myself, and I'm not great installing these things, so I just want to have both setup to match, so I don;t have any complications when I install them.

That's great to hear. I'm not a classic mod guy, my mods have always been little things, this will be by far the most major mods I will be doing to one of my car, I'm doing the Intake (I have done it before), and the exhaust and now thinking on the Y-Pipe, but one thing that worries me a little; I love the OEM sound, for me it's very distinctive, moderate and aggresive at the same time, I thought on that before ordering the exhaust and decided for the Greddys because of the silencer (Yeah, I know about how great it sound without them, but I'm not doing it).

So a couple of questions:

1-) What is your currect setup?
2-) How the Y-Pipe changed your sound or tone?, I'm worried about changing too much and then having a sound that I may not like, or even worse, too have the "drone" issue with my 5AT.

Thanks in advance.

1) I currently have the Greddy with another y-pipe (can't say which one yet), but the piping in the y-pipe is about 2.25 and goes into a 3 when it meets the mid-pipe.

2) After we put it on, it quited the exuast just a little bit. It sounds a lot smoother though when I rev, and feels much better. I have a 5AT as well, and 4th has a lot more now when you downshift from 5th. It also feels a lot smoother when accelerating.

From what I hear Hector may also have plans for a full exhaust for the G37.

Thanks for that info, well, here it's the latest e-mail I received from Hector:

<<Everyone says the greddy is 2.75. What i was going to do was make the pipe 2.5". Where hte pipes merge i was going to make that pipe 2.75" because the greddy is 2.75". Worst case if the greddy is 2.5" the setup ill send will still bolt up to your system.>>
